Aisha Jumwa reprieve as tribunal stops her expulsion

Expelled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa can now breathe easy following a decision by the Political Parties Disputes to temporarily stop her expulsion from ODM.

Aisha Jumwa found herself in trouble with her political party ODM for openly showing support for DP William Ruto come 2022.

Aisha Jumwa was summoned to the party’s disciplinary team alongside her counterpart Suleiman Dori of Msambweni.

On Friday the Malindi MP was ejected from the part while her counterpart Suleiman Dori spared in the final decision.

On Monday, the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal stopped the removal of Aisha Jumwa from ODM membership list ordering and inter party hearing come March 8th.

Aisha Jumwa’s response

Following the expulsion, the Malindi law maker fought back saying that she will serve as the MP of Malindi for the next five years as stipulated in the constitution.

Ms. Jumwa further said that she is not shaken with the current state of things unless all procedures were done as per the law.

Troubles started when the Deputy President William Ruto was at the coast and the two law-makers showed their support for the DP who is poised to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.
