Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal investigations have arrested Wajir East MP Rashid Amin in connection to the assault of women representative Fatuma Gedi.
Mr. Rashid Amin was arrested in the parliament building as investigations continue into the incident as confirmed by DCI themselves.
“Hon. Rashid Kassim Amin, the Member of Parliament for Wajir East was today evening arrested within the Precincts of Parliament by @DCI_Kenya Detectives in connection with causing actual bodily harm to @Hon_FatumaGedi, Women Rep for Wajir County.Further investigations are ongoing.”
Wajir East MP Rashid Amin is said to have assaulted Fatuma Gedi outside the parliament on Thursday.
She was later taken to Karen hospital before recording a statement at parliament Police Station.

Female legislators walked out of parliament as they demanded the immediate arrest of the Wajir MP. They also called on majority leader Aden Duale to step down for failing to defend women.
