A 70-year-old man has blamed witchcraft after he was accused of stealing two lotions from Naivas Supermarket, Jogoo branch.
Appearing before Makadara Court, Edward Macharia was accused of stealing two Nivea lotions worth Ksh 1,720 from the supermarket.
The Judge in charge of the case noted the incident as the second one in a row stealing the same product.
She then advised the 70-year-old man to go back to the village so as to get away from all the shame he is undergoing.
In his defense, Macharia blamed witchcraft for his predicaments as he wondered why he would steal the same product from Naivas Supermarket only.
In August the suspect was accused of stealing Nivea lotion before he was released by the same Judge.
Efforts by Macharia to plead for forgiveness fell on deaf ear as his file was transferred to another Judge for prosecution.
The suspect was caught on CCTV camera making his way into the supermarket heading to the lotion section.
He then stole the two lotions before purchasing salt worth Ksh 10. It was at the exit where he was caught by the branch manager and taken to Jogoo police station.
