Kenya has reported a record 1,062 COVID-19 recoveries rising the number of total confirmed recoveries in the country to 12,961.
Out of the 1,062 recoveries, 983 of the patients were from home-based care and 79 from various hospitals in the country.
Speaking from Kisumu County CS Mutahi Kagwe confirmed 599 new cases of the virus bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 26,436.

The new cases are from a sample size of 4,420 with the number of foreigners being 6 and the rest being Kenyans.
In terms of gender, 373 are male and 226 are females with the youngest being 1-year and the oldest being 82-years.
Nairobi was leading with the highest number of confirmed cases at 318, Kiambu 70, Nakuru 39, Machakos 38, Mombasa 28, Kajiado 26, Isiolo 10, Kericho 14, Kisii 9, Kakamega 6, Makueni 5 as Kisumu, Kitui and Murang’a all had 4 cases each.
The number of fatalities in the country went up to 420 after two more patients were confirmed to have succumbed to the virus.
