Kenya has reported 179 more positive cases of COVID-19 cases from 4,178 samples tested.
The new cases push the cumulative confirmed number of cases in the country to 34,884 and the number of samples tested so far to 467,677.
All the new cases are Kenyans except 17 who were foreigners.In terms of age the youngest was 1-year and the oldest 75-years as the number of males to that of females being 126 to 53 respectively.

In terms of distribution per county, Nairobi took the lead with 66, Garissa 21, Turkana 12, Nakuru 12, Busia 11, Taita Taveta 10, Kiambu 9, Kitui 6, Kisumu 5, Kajiado 3, Machakos 3, Kericho 3, Nyamira 3, Trans Nzoia 3, Kisii 2, Mombasa 2, Laikipia 2, Nyeri 2, Kilifi 1, Baringo 1, and Uasin Gishu 1.
The number of recoveries in the same period of time rose to 21,059 after 415 patients recovered from the virus. 161 of the recoveries were from home-based care as 254 were from various hospitals.
Unfortunately, the number of deaths went up to 589 after four patients succumbed from complications brought about by the virus.
