Abdul Haji has on Saturday been endorsed as the perfect choice to replace his father Hon. Yusuf Haji as the Senator of Garissa.
The son of the late Senator made headline back in 2013 during the Westgate terror attack, stepping into action and rescuing some of those trapped inside the buidling.
Speaking during the Saturday event was Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who called on residents of Garissa to select someone who best knows their troubles and that person best suited for the job was Abdul.

Present at the function was Garissa Governor Ali Korane who described the late Senator as a true leader both in the county and the entire country and the best way to honour him was to have his son succeed him.
Garissa which is made up of three clans who drive politics saw the Abdallah clan endorse Abdul Haji with the leaders from the region promising to convince the two other clans.
The leaders came together to raise Ksh 7.5 million to be used to build two Madrasa’s in Fafi subcounty.
So far no other candidate has stepped in to claim the seat with IEBC already selected May 18th as the by-election period.
