U.S forces are reported to have killed Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi following a raid on Saturday night.
Sources from the U.S forces, Iran ad Iraq are said to have confirmed the information that is yet to be announced by the U.S president Donald Trump.
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had previously been reported to be on the run with his family and was hiding at the Syria border with Turkey.
His death comes at a time when democrats were blaming Trump for causing the deaths of Kurdish who are American allies after he withdrew the army from Turkey.
Last month an audio was released by the Islamic State leader calling for the release of women he held as he reported frequent attacks against him.

Another audio message by the leader was quoted saying how the U.S had lost its war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Even though he had lost control of major areas, Baghdadi is reported to have underground messengers whom worked in Syria and Iraq.
His death will calm Donald Trump opposers who criticized his lose of dominance in Syria. It was believed to have an adverse effect on the security of the country.
The White House has at the moment not commented on the latest news but say the president has a major announcement to make.
