Advocate Khawar Qureshi cleared to prosecute Deputy CJ Mwilu

British advocate Khawar Qureshi has been cleared by a Nairobi court to continue to represent the DPP.

Led by a five judge bench, Justice Chacha Mwita said that he they are satisfied that the appointment of Mr. Qureshi meets the required law and find the application lacking any merits.

Mr. Qureshi was appointed by the office of the DPP to lead in the prosecution of the Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu.

In the meantime the court is still making a rulling seeking to bar Siaya Senator James Orengo and his counterpart Okong’o Omogeni from representing the Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu.

Senator Orengo and Okong’o are being bar on the grounds that there is a conflict of interest as they currently sit in the Committee of Legal Affairs in the National Assembly.
