AFCON: Nigeria’s Samuel Kalu collapses during training

Nigeria forward Samuel Kalu was taken to hospital on Friday ahead of there Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON match following severe dehydration.

Samuel Kalu who plays for Ligue 1 side Bordeaux collapsed during a training exercise ahead of their AFCON match forcing delays.

Temperatures in Egypt are expected to go as high as 40C as the Confederation of African Football (Caf) plans to have two breaks per match in accordance with Fifa rules.

Kalu is said to have collapsed when taking a corner during a training session causing a 25-minute break.

Nigerian spokesman confirmed that the forward Is In a stable condition but will miss the teams first match against Burundi.

All matches will see a three-minute heartbreak in the 30th minute and the other one in the 70th minute.
