Africa shines as Senegal win at the World Cup

Senegal has today become the first African team to win a match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

A deflected own goal from Thiago Cionek and an error from Poland Goal Keeper Wojciech Szczesny helped Senegal beat Poland 2-1.

Poland were with their lethal striker Lewandoski  of Bayern Munich but it was Liverpool’striker Mane who set up Idrissa Gueya for a shot that deflected off Thiago Cionek to give Senegal a lead.

In the 60th Minute Poland’s Krychowiak gave an awful back pass that bounced before Wojciech Szczesny.Mbaye Niang whose just on time to kick the ball past Szczesny and at the back of Poland empty net to extend Senegal’s lead to two.


Poland’s Kuba B┼éaszczykowski became the third Poland player to play 100 senior international matches for Poland.
