Kenya’s 5,000m women representative to Tokyo Olympics Agnes Tirop has on Wednesday been found dead.
Agnes Tirop is reported to have been found with deep stab wounds in her body at her home in Elgeyo Marakwet with the circumstances surrounding her dead remaining unknown.

The news comes a month after the deceased broke the world record in the 10 km road race finishing in a time of 30:01 in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
At the tender age of 19 years, Tirop had already established herself as a name to remember winning the world cross country competitions. In 2014 she won the African Cross Country Championships.
