Palestinian health minister has confirmed the death of Shireen Abu, a journalist working with Al Jazeera who was shot dead by Israel forces at the West Bank.
Shireen is reported to have been hit on the head by a live bullet as she covered Wednesday news at the city of Jenin before she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. She was however confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Ali Samoudi, another journalist working for Al Jazeera was shot in the back and is now in stable condition after receiving proper medical attention.

Media sources reveal that at the time of the incident not Palestine fighter was at the scene or near the scene contrary to a statement issued by Israel forces after the news.
A statement by Samoudi confirmed that the two were filming operations of the Israel forces when he was first shot before the second bullet found Shireen who was standing next to her.
Shatha Hanaysha, a journalist based in Palestine stood next to the deceased at the time of the incident confirmed that Israel forces shot at them continuously with the intention of killing them.
Even thought they were equipped with helmets and press jackets, the soldiers kept on shooting and she could not help Abu on time.
“We were four journalists, we were all wearing vests, all wearing helmets,” Hanaysha said. “The [Israeli] occupation army did not stop firing even after she collapsed. I couldn’t even extend my arm to pull her because of the shots. The army was adamant on shooting to kill.” Said Hanaysha
Before meeting her death, Shireen Abu had sent a message to Aljazeera offices confirming the current situation of the ongoing fighting promising to update viewers on the same.
“Occupation forces storm Jenin and besiege a house in the Jabriyat neighborhood. On the way there, I will bring you news as soon as the picture becomes clear.” Said Shireen
