Allies to DP Ruto dispersed by police in Mumias, Kakamega

Allies to DP William Ruto were on Saturday dispersed by police when they holding a gathering in Mumias, Kakamega County.

The gathering which was being held parallel to that of BBI saw people scamper for safety as police used teargas to disperse the crowd.

Leaders including Kiminini MP Didmus Barasa, Dan Wanyama of Webuye West, Justus Murunga of Mutunga and Charles Gimose of Hamisi were present.

Nabongo grounds where the meeting was to be held was a no go zone as the police kept everyone at bay.

Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa and former Kakamega Governor Boni Khalwale were present at the meeting.

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali was reported missing ahead of the meeting as they blamed those allied to Hon. Raila Odinga of his disappearance.

They then moved to Shianda police station to ask for his whereabouts but they found o answers.

Shibale was their next stop to address the people but the police were on their trail before dispersing them again.
