American rapper DMX has on Friday passed away at the age of 50 he was hospitalized and placed on life support machine.
In a statement issued by the family, they confirmed the DMX whose real names are Earl Simmons was a warrior who fought to the very end even after being placed on life support machine at White Plains hospital.
“We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end.” Said the family.

They continued by noting that his music inspired many of his fans who have continued to show love during the difficult period. They then requested for privacy as they mourn and make further plans.
“He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized.” Said DMX family.
The American rapper was rushed to the hospital last week on Friday after suffering a heart attack following a drug overdose that caused him a heart attack.
His family including his mother, fiancée, baby mama and many of his children have been visiting the hospital.
