Heavy presence of anti-riot police was deployed at Jacaranda grounds to block both Azimio One Kenya Alliance and Kenya Kwanza from holding rallies.
This follows news from both camps that they were set to hold rallies at the same venue and that they had both been issued with the relevant documents.
Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate and Deputy President William Ruto called on his supporters to avail themselves at the grounds after church service for the mega rally.

“The Kenya Kwanza fraternity and the entire hustler nation wishes a blessed Sunday to all na tukutane Jacaranda after church.” Said DP William Ruto
Azimio led by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino claimed to have booked the same venue forcing the police to block both sides over fears of chaos that may erupt from the push and pull.
In his letter, Babu Owino confirmed to the police that he had already booked the venue and that he had mobilized his supporters to attend. He continued by saying that he has information of Deputy President William Ruto holding a parallel rally at the same venue.
His statement was confirmed by ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna who spoke to Nation and told them that they had already booked the venue which had now been canceled due to double booking.
