Former Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has with immediate effect terminated his partnership with tech giants Huawei.
The Barcelona man attributed the change in tune to the alleged facial development software targeting Uighur Muslims back in China.
” After the strong suspects according to which the Huawei company could have contributed to the development of a “Uighur alert” through a facial recognition software. Announcement that immediately terminated my collaboration with the company.” Said Griezmann.

The talented Frenchman challenged the company to not only come out and deny the allegations but also to act on it and support the respect of human rights.
“I seize the occasion to invite Huawei not only to deny this accusation but to take specific actions as soon as possible to condemn this massive repression and use its influence to contribute to the respect of human rights.” Said Griezmann.
The tech giants confirmed to have received the statement from the striker and that they are willing to engage him and take him through what the company is doing to deal with such allegations.
Washington Post was the first to report that Huawei had tested a software that could recognize a member of the Uighur group of Muslims.
