Tech giants Apple announced its quarterly earnings but it was during the meeting with the investors that the company CFO Lucas Maestri announced that they won’t be sharing the unit sales of its iPhone, iPad or Mac anymore.

The decision will make it hard for analyst to determine the company’s health progress but according to the company they sale there products at different prices thus they are not good indicators of a company’s financial health.

Apple at the moment has products that range in price in terms of product category and long gone is the time when they would look at the prices.

The lowest prices Apple product is the Apple Watch which retails at an average price of $399 while the iPhone XS Max retails at $1,099.

Other products include the iPad Pro which goes for $799 and MacBook Air for $1,199.

The average numbers of units shipped in the quarter were relatively constant even though the tech giant’s revenue shot up by 29 percent.

Maestri continued by saying that there competitors in the industry that is the likes of Google and Samsung adopted the system of not disclosing the unit sales in there quarterly results.

He continued by saying that it’s important as a company to give more relevant information for a better analysis.

The question is why is Apple making the changes now?
