Arsenal beat Leicester to extend impressive start

Arsenal extended their unbeaten run and perfect start of the Premier League campaign to two after beating rival Leicester at the Emirates Stadium.

New signing Gabriel Jesus also extended his impressive run from pre-season by scoring two first half goals and providing an assist in the 4-2 win behind a fully charged home support.

After maintaining a first half strong lead and clean sheet in the first halt, William Saliba netted an own goal as he attempted to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper in the 53rd minute.

Leicester’s hopes were quickly dashed off after Ward failed to clear the ball which bounced off Gabriel Jesus feet and to Granit Xhaka who was quick to make it 3-1 two minutes later.

James Maddison narrowed the gap to one but Gabriel Martinelli punished them barely a minute afterwards thanks to a string left foot strike to the bottom of the right side of the goal post.

The win leaves Arsenal in second position with six points as Leicester sit in the table with only a point following their 2-2 draw against Brentford in their opening clash of the season.

Mikel Arteta was definitely impressed by his side given the amount of pressure the applied to the Foxes defense and accuracy of passes moving forward. Most importantly is the impact of Gabriel Jesus who is proving a challenger of the golden boot.
