Alexandre Lacazette scored twice as Arsenal came from behind to beat La Liga side Valencia in the first leg of the Europa League.
Valencia took an early lead through Mouctar Diakabhy who converted from a corner kick beating Petr Czech.
The lead lasted less than six minutes when Lacazette slotted an equalizer from a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pass.
Before the end of the first half, the French striker doubled Arsenal’s lead following a Granit Xhaka cross making it 2-1.
Aubameyang converted a fine volley into the back of Valencia net giving the Gunners a comfortable lead in the first leg.
Lacazette missed two crucial chances to add more goals for Unai Emery when his header narrowly missed an Aubameyang cross in the second half.
Arsenal will now travel to Valencia next week hoping not to be knocked out of Europa League semi-final after they were beaten by Atletico Madrid last season.
Unai Emery Champions League fight
Gunners who have suffered three consecutive defeats in the English Premier League, will now put up a fight to win the Europa League to make it through to the Champions League.
Even though they started the match completely slow, they managed to switch on and take advantage of home support.
