Arsenal has successfully completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City on a five year deal ending 2027.
The Gunners had already reached full agreement with Pep Guardiola’s side as personal terms between the player’s camp and the club were subject to discussion.
“Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, here we go! Personal terms fully agreed with his agent Marcelo Pettinati and his two partners. Gabriel signs until 2027, it’s 100% done. Arsenal already agreed £45m fee with Man City as revealed on Friday. Edu & Arteta, key for the deal.” Said Fabrizio Romano
After failing to meet the Brazilian valuation of £50m, Arsenal returned back with an improved value of £45m that was accepted by their rivals thanks to prompt discussions by technical director Edu Gaspar.
- Arsenal and Man. City reach full agreement for Gabriel Jesus
- Arsenal confirm signing Fabio Vieira on long-term contract
Gabriel Jesus will now become the third confirmed signing of the club behind fellow Brazilian Marquinhos and Portuguese star Fabio Vieira who has been confirmed by the club.
His arrival is a major boost for manager Mikel Arteta who has been looking for Alexander Lacazette replacement who left the club for Olympique Lyon on free transfer and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang who joined Barcelona on free transfer.
Competition is now at the Gunners camp as the Brazilian will battle for first team start against Eddie Nketiah who extended his stay at the Emirates stadium for another five years.
Arsenal will now turn their attention to other signings as they look forward to strengthen their squad ahead of next season. Among those on their radar include Leeds winger Raphinha and Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
