French club Lille has come to an agreement with Arsenal to sign Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe for 72 million pounds.
The deal with has not yet been finalized will require both agents from Arsenal and Pepe to come to a final agreement.
Gunners on the other side will pay for the 24-year-old in installments due to their restricted budget this summer.
The transfer which is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours saw Italian side Napoli meet Lille price but their proposal was turned down by Pepe’s team.
Last season, the Ivorian scored 23 goals for his club and it’s due to his high technical ability that he fits Arsenal’s style of play.
In addition to that, Pepe can be used as a striker and is more dangerous playing from the right-wing cutting across with his left foot.
This week the Gunners brought in the services of Dani Ceballos from Spanish Giants Real Madrid on a season-long loan.
Dani will take over Ramsey’s role in the midfielder having departed to Juventus during the transfer period.
Arsenal fans are however not pleased with Stan Kroenke citing a dim future in the club due to his habit of spending less compared to other clubs.
Taking to the streets, they called for the stepping down of Stan Kroenke to pave way for Arsenal who is recently participating in Europa League and not the Champions League.
