Arsenal record second consecutive win as Liverpool go top

Arsenal netted a solitary goal against Burnley on Saturday and recording the second consecutive win in the Premier League.

Martin Odegaard netted the only goal of the fixture, his first goal since re-joining Arsenal on a permanent deal from Real Madrid last month. The win was relief for Mikel Arteta who under pressure to bring results.

The 30th minute winner will be one to remember given the accuracy of the free-kick. Arteta could breath a sign of relief after Burnley’s penalty was overturned by the VAR.

The Gunners who were bottom of the table after their first three matches of the league, are now in 12th position after five games.

Manchester City on the other hand were held to a goalless draw by Southampton to drop two points leaving them in second position with 10 points.

Mane was on target for Liverpool to score his ninth straight goal for Liverpool who demolished Crystal Palace at Anfield. Egyptian Mohamed Salah was denied a chance to give the Reds the lead but Mane pounced on the ball to record his 100th goal for Liverpool.

The win took Liverpool top of the Premier League table with 13 points from 5 games played so far and three points a drift Manchester City who are second in the table. Manchester United have a clear chance to close in on Liverpool with ten points with a game in hand.
