Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny has tested positive for COVID-19

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has tested positive for COVID-19 while on International duty with Egypt.

The news was confirmed by Egypt FA body days after they confirmed the same results for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

Elneny is reported to be asymptomatic and will undergo further tests before his return to London for club duty.

The news will be a blow for coach Mikel Arteta who had entrusted the Egyptian with midfield duties recently as they pair with newly signed Thomas Partey.

Last season, Mohamed Elneny was in Turkey before returning back to Arsenal with his performance impressing Arteta giving him more play time.

Salah who is still in Egypt is expected to stay in isolation until the doctors confirm negative results before releasing him.

Last week the Liverpool star was out partying during his brother’s wedding ceremony as seen in a video making rounds on social media.
