Autopsy results reveal Gichugu Returning Officer Geoffrey Gitobu’s death

Autopsy results of Gichugu Returning Officer Geoffrey Gitobu have been released and confirmed that the IEBC officer had a blood clot in his arteries.

This comes days after police ruled out foul play leading to his death after he collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances.

Kenyans had already begged for questions as his death came barely a week after his fellow Returning Officer based in Embakasi East was found dead after he went missing.

Daniel Musyoka excused himself out of the polling station to make a call only to go missing even after the Commission and his family filed a missing person report.

His lifeless body was found three days later in a forest in Loitoktok, Kajiado County with visible injuries of someone who was tortured before meeting his death.

Investigations into his death are still ongoing as police pick up leads and CCTV footage showing the deceased speaking to a Boda Boda rider a few meters from the station. It was after that point that his phone went missing.

The detectives will also seek to know who he was last speaking to as it could provide important clues at to how and why he died.
