Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has called for the release of Jowie Irungu following the murder of Monica Kimani.

The legislator accused the Judiciary of being used giving examples of the cases against some top personalities in the country.

Babu Owino mentioned the case against Migori Governor Okoth Obado who was accused to be behind the murder of Sharon Otieno but was later on released on bail.

He again noted the recent arrest of Sarah Wairimu for the alleged murder of husband Tob Cohen but she was also released on bail.

Babu Owino referred to the two cases calling for the Judiciary to release Jowi on bail or bond unless he is found guilty.

Speaking to Kenyans, the Embakasi East MP vowed to chip in to pay for Jowie Irungu’s legal charges if the problem is finances.

Jowie and former Citizen TV presenter Jacque Maribe were both arrested for the murder of Monica Kimani but Maribe was released last month on bail.

Irungu was denied bail as prosecution termed him a flight risk and could possibly interfere with witnesses if granted bail.
