In a separate attack, they are said to have attacked seven people, two of them were police officers leaving them for dead.

A person who requested his identity to be hidden told the Daily Nation that security in the region is not okay at the moment.

He further revealed that officers in Marsabit are currently holding meetings to discuss the way forward in regard to the attacks.

He, however, refused to dig deeper into the issue saying that it is a top-secret issue that is being dealt with at the moment.

This is not among several other incidents where bandits and terror group members have attacked the area this year alone.

Last year in October, two Members of Parliament were arrested by detectives from DCI over incitement claims.

The two MPs namely Ali Rosso and Chanchu Ganya were accused of inciting people in the area leaving 14 dead.

They were grilled at DCI offices in Embu as the detectives sought the root cause of the issue and bring it to an end.
