One Kenya Wildlife Officer (KWS) officer is feared dead as another one sustained injuries following a banditry attack in Isiolo County.
The incident occurred as the two officers were preparing lunch before the armed bandits from Laikipia County broke into the armoury, stole several rounds of ammunition and three firearms.
The bandits are reported to have opened fire at the officers before reinforcement from Oldonyiro police station stepped in to repulse them in return. At the end of the incident, two officers had sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Nanyuki Cottage Hospital for treatment.

It was at the hospital on Saturday morning that one of the officers who had sustained serious gun shot injuries succumbed as his fellow officers was stabilized and is currently receiving treatment at the same facility.
Investigations into the incident has been launched with police now tasked with tracking down the criminals. Intelligence report also reveal that the criminals had received a tip off residents before ambushing the officers.
