Barcelona scored two late goals against Atletico Madrid to go 11 points clear at the top of La Liga rankings.
Messi and Suarez were on point punishing Atletico Madrid for their mistakes when Diego Costa was shown a straight card after abusing referee Jesus Gill in the 27th minute.
Atletico held Barcelona in the first half and into the second half with goalkeeper Jan Oblak making incredible saves to keep the host from scoring.
Uruguayan striker Luiz Suarez was however on point with 10 minutes left sending a 22-yard strike past the Slovenian keeper.
Messi doubled the lead 60 seconds later after cutting inside two defenders and sending the ball on the law scoring his 333rd goal of the season.
The win leaves Barcelona with 73 points, 11 above Atletico Madrid who are just two points ahead of Real Madrid who won against Eibar.
