Barcelona vs Villarreal: Catalans bounce back with a win

Barcelona vs Villarreal match saw the Catalans bounce back to winning ways thrashing Villarreal two goals to one at the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

An early goal from Antoine Griezmann and a second from Arthur Melo in the first half raised them a point behind third-placed Real Madrid.

Captain Lionel Messi provided an incredible free-kick which was converted by former Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in the sixth minute.

Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo doubled the lead before the end of the first half to ensure the La Liga champions have an upper hand.

The win is a relief for Ernesto whose side had a shaky start in the season even though they are currently at position four.

Rivals Real Madrid has a game in hand and an opportunity to lead the table if they win their next match.

In other games of the night, Real Betis thrashed Levante three goals to one.

The win lifts Betis to position nine and level on points with Villarreal in position eight.

Real Valladolid held Granada at home denying them a chance to widen the lead.
