Barclays Bank of Kenya has now taken a new precaution of not taking any new safe deposits and working with their clients to review the existing safe deposits.
The new precautions by the Barclays Bank come barely two days following the arrest of six people in a 2 billion fake currency saga handled by the flying squad.
In Statement from the bank to its clients, they have assured its clients that all currency dispensed over the counter or the ATM is genuine and items held in the safe deposit are separate from the bank deposits.
Further precautions have been promised by the bank to ensure such incidents do not take place again as they confirm two of its employees were arrested too.
On Thursday, Barclays Bank of Kenya handed over a second safe deposit box belonging to one suspect Dr. Erick Adede.
