Baringo County Assembly has become the first county to reject the BBI amendment bill after a day full of chaos.
A report by Citizen Digital revealed that Members of County Assembly (MCAs) voted overwhelmingly against the bill with only 5 voting yes, 30 against it and 5 were absent during the vote.
Police were forced to lobby teargas in the air when chaos erupted as the County Speaker announced the results in the evening.

Members of the County Assembly (MCA) were forced to scamper for safety with the building surviving a fire incident when a teargas canister exploded.
Earlier on in the afternoon MCAs allied to KANU and Jubilee nearly engaged in fist fight when those allied to KANU accused those of Jubilee of planning to shoot down the bill.
Three counties have so far passed the bill with Homabay becoming the latest entry voting in one voice passing the contentious document.
Siaya was the first county to pass the bill after successfully completing public engagement through adverts as revealed by the county Speaker.
