Beatrice Chepkoech shines in Glasgow

The Muller Indoor Grand prix on Sunday saw steeplechase specialist Beatrice Chepkoech top women standing in the 1,500m.

The Kericho born athlete is on a good form ahead of IAAF World Championship in Birmingham that will run from 1st to March 4th 2018.

Chepkoech opened the gap from the beginning before crossing the line in 4:02.21 ahead of Ethiopia’s Axumawit Embaye.

The men did not disappoint in the 3,000m as Justus Soget,a form four student at Kiboron Boys High School won the race to bag a European victory.

Soget was competing against world indoor champion Yomif Kejelcha and USA’s Olympic 5,000m silver medalist Paul Chelimo.

Chelimo took the lead but with 200 meters left,Soget took a long path outside to clinch a win at a Scottish world record time of 7:39:09.Kejelcha finished third.
