Arsenal has completed the signing of Ben White from Brighton ending weeks of delay as both clubs were locked in negotiations.
The 23-year-old is the third signing for coach Mikel Arteta following the footsteps of Nuno Tavares and Sambi Lokonga who recently joined the first team on long term contract.
White begun his career with Southampton before joining Brighton at the age of 16-years before making his first senior debut at the age of 18.

His exceptional talent was demonstrated during his loan spell at Leeds helping the former Premier League champions back to the league after a long wait.
Several clubs have been interested in his signature following his impressive skill in the just concluded Euro 2020 after he was called by coach Gareth Southgate.
Speaking after his arrival, technical director Edu expressed how happy he was praising his passing skills and strength defensively.
“Ben has been a key target this summer. He has so many qualities which make us so excited he’s joining us. Ben’s a young English player with a great future. He’s very strong defensively, good on the ball with a great passing range. We’re delighted Ben’s signed and we look forward to him growing with us.” Said Edu.
“Ben was a top target for us and it’s great that we’ve completed his signing. Ben has been educated with two very good clubs, Brighton and Leeds, in recent seasons. He has benefitted well from two very good coaching set-ups and has shown with both Brighton and on loan with Leeds what a strong talent he is.
Ben is an intelligent defender who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet and his style fits perfectly with us. And of course, he is still young, so his age and profile fits with what we are building here. We are all looking forward to Ben being central to our future long-term plans.” Said Coach Mikel Arteta.
Ben White will wear the number 4 shirt and will quickly join the first team ahead of the clubs Mind Series matches against Chelsea and Tottenham.
Arsenal will now shift their focus to extend the contract of Granit Xhaka who has been keen to depart the club and join Jose Mourinho at AS Roma.
“After Ben White deal, Arsenal are focused on Xhaka. New contract proposed as per The Athletic – board confident to convince him. Xhaka agreed personal terms with AS Roma but NO agreement between clubs.” Said Fabrizio Romano
