Benson Musungu, ODM youth leader discharged

ODM director in charge of youth affairs Benson Musungu has on Saturday been discharged after testing negative for coronavirus.

Musungu who was admitted early in June confirmed the news that he had indeed contracted the virus.

Taking on social media, the ODM youth leader revealed that he had been at the Aga Khan ICU for six days after testing positive for coronavirus.

“Good people! it’s true!! I am at Agakhan hospital 6th day in ICU after turning Covid19 positive!!Guys it is real.I thank God so far. Laters and keep government directives.”

On June 16th he updated his followers revealing he had been moved to the normal wards where he was recuperating.

“”I am out of the ICU to normal ward!!What to say to God?! Thank you!! Thank you guys for standing with me. Guys haiko kwa TV na radio…Jitokeze tulinde Kenya yetu!”

ODM party had already confirmed his admission saying that they will carter for his medical expenses until when he recovers.

The party leader Raila Odinga expressed his confidence that he will come through of the condition.

“To our director for Youth Affairs at the ODM party Mr Benson Musungu, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers tonight as you battle COVID-19. I’m confident you will overcome. Have faith in God. Be strong.” Said Raila Odinga.

On Friday Musungu confirmed he had tested negative as he posted an empty hospital bed where he was admitted.

He thanked everyone who stood by him especially his party as he urged Kenyans to follow the government directive.

“The bed is empty at last!! Iam COVID 19 negative!! God is a living God! I want to thank the Agakhan medical fraternity for the best care have ever received in any hospital. Asante Baba Raila Odinga and the ODM fraternity Thank you all for your prayers and moral support.”
