Kenya Power and Lightening PLC have appointed Mr. Bernard Ngugi as the company CEO.
Bernard Ngugi will replace embattled former CEO Ken Tarus who was involved in graft allegations.
The new Kenya Power and Lightening CEO was the general manager in charge of the Supply chain at the company before his appointment.
The company on Tuesday confirmed he was appointed following a competitive recruitment process.

Kenya Power through its MD Jared Otieno has announced plans that will end frequent power shortages in the country.

Mr. Jared confirmed that the company has received a total of Ksh 2 billion that will be used for the training and purchase of new equipment.
The trained staff will, in turn, conduct live wire maintenance, a key end to the power outages.
Previously, the company had embarked on power interruptions but since the training, the interruptions are reported to have reduced by 40%.
A total of 70 staff have already undergone the pilot phase of the exercise.
