Brian Kassaine who is Jacque Maribe’s neighbor has been released and is expected to report to the DCI every Thursday.
He was also ordered to surrender his passport within 48 hours and failure to do so he will be lead to his arrest.
Brian was arrested after his gun was used by Joseph Irungu in what he said was he had borrowed it for training but it had no bullets.
In a statement to the detectives, Brian said that Jowie shot himself in what was a botched suicide attempt.
The DPP already ordered for the swift prosecution of the two lovers as they believe they have enough evidence to prosecute them.
In her part, Maribe has been accused to be an accessory to the murder as she is believed to have known about it but did not report the incident to the nearest police station.
It’s also believed that she assisted in the destruction of evidence as the clothes suspected to have been used were found burnt near her house.
Her car was the first one to have been confiscated as it was used by her fiancé in the night of Monica’s murder.
Also taken for investigation was her kitchen knife which is suspected to have been used to cut the deceased’s throat.
If found guilty, Maribe will be sentenced to lifetime in prison as that is the punishment for being an accessory to murder.
