Brigid Kosgei bags the London Marathon gold medal

Brigid Kosgei won the London Marathon stunning fellow runners Vivian Cheruiyot and Mary Keitany who were favorites to win it.

Brigid Kosgei won the marathon at a time of 2 hours 18 minutes and 20 seconds retaining the tittle to Kenya for the third consecutive year.

It was a personal best time for 24-year-old Kosgei whose win is the second one following her Chicago Marathon win five months ago.

Vivian Cheruiyot came second in the London Marathon at a time of 2 hours, 20 minutes and 14 seconds ahead of Ethiopian Roza Dereje.

Eliud Kipchoge win

Brigid Kosgei is the second win for Kenya as Eliud Kipchoge won the London Marathon again recording his fourth straight victory.

Eliud Kipchoge won the marathon at a record time of 2 hours, 2 minutes and 2 minutes and 37 minutes ahead of Ethiopian duo Mosinet Geremew and Mule Musihun.
