Brother to Bobi Wine arrested on his way to the airport

Eddie Yawe the brother to Bobi Wine has been arrested in Uganda for what is not yet known.

Yawe who was on his way to the airport to receive his brother was arrested and is currently being held at Entebbe Police station.

Bobi Wine who is expected back to the country on Thursday in a ceremony that has sent the country into a tension mode. Special instructions were issued to citizens not to form any type of gathering to welcome back the Kyadondo MP.

Only his immediate family members will be allowed at the airport to receive him.


Last month Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi saw his charges dropped sending him to tears but was again arrested.

He was to be charged in a civil court but his lawyer who is also a member of parliament appealed to the court to release him so as to receive medical assistance in what he said he was “ beaten” while in custody.

He was however handed over to the Ugandan Police and taken to Gulu where he was to appear before Chief Magistrate Court.

In the same month, opposition leader Kizza Besigye was arrested as he was leaving his house.

Heavy police was present to make sure no demonstration would take place.

In the meantime demonstrations were still going in with Kenya joining in calling for the immediate release of Bobi Wine.
