Since 2014 Brunei has gradually been rolling out strict laws with the new brutal laws being announced in December 2018 by the country’s attorney general.

Other than stoning to death, other punishments introduced by the country include amputation of thieves.

An international cry is being witnessed with Brunei being the first in the region to adapt the strict sharia laws in 2014.

Over the years, Brunei has become strict in its ruling banning the sale of alcohol in the country.

Announcing the new penal code in 2014 the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah said that he does not expect other people to agree with it but it would be good if they respect the nation the same way they respect them.
