Buruburu girls on fire, several students sustain injuries

Several students are reported to have sustained injuries after a fire engulfed Buruburu girls in Nairobi.

Some of the students are reported to have been taken to Metropolitan Hospital and others to the nearest hospital for treatment.

A disturbing image shared online revealed some of the girls jumping from the school’s dormitory as passerby’s screamed in shock.

“We currently have 59 students undergoing treatment. All in stable condition. Our team of trauma and emergency medicine have stabilized and discharged a total of 30 students already. We remain committed to the safety of our communities.” Said Metropolitan Hospital
