Businessman and lawyer Karanja Kabage dies

Nairobi lawyer and corporate titan Karanja Kabage has passed away on Friday 5th July while driving himself within Nairobi.

The 70-year-old businessman was driving himself at the time of the accident before succumbing to an unknown condition.

Mourning Mr. Karanja Kabage was President Uhuru Kenyatta who described him as a resourceful person who was ready to offer legal aid to anyone who sought his help.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to the family, friends & relatives of lawyer, politician and businessman Karanja Kabage. The President described the late Kabage as a resourceful person who was always ready to offer legal aid to those who sought his help. Said State House Kenya

Karanja Kabage cause of death

According to a statement from the National Police Service of Kenya, preliminary investigations indicate that businessman Karanja Kabage was driving a black Land Cruiser VX along the southern bypass from Ole Sereni direction.

Eye witnesses say the vehicle veered off the wrong side of the road, slowed, appeared to be making a U-turn before slightly hitting the pavement.

A taxi driver stopped and joined another Good Samaritan before the victim requested to be driven to Nairobi Hospital.

The taxi driver took control of the Land Cruiser and was followed by the Good Samaritan in a second car.

Upon arrival at the hospital he was unconscious and the doctors tried to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead.

The Director of Criminal Investigations has been directed by the Inspector General to institute immediate investigation into the probable cause of death.

The public has in the meantime been requested to exercise patience as the investigation continues
