Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheri has been admitted at the Mater Hospital in Nairobi after contracting COVID-19.

According to Nation, the Archbishop who doubles up as the chairman of the Interfaith Council sent a message to worshippers in the archdioceses of Nyeri.

In his message he revealed to have contracted the virus as he seeks faithfuls to pray for him as well as other patients receiving treatment in various hospitals and at home.

He continued by revealing that his condition has improved as he can sleep and eat well even though he is under the assistance of oxygen.

The news comes as the country records increasing number of COVID-19 cases including the recent 38 cases confirmed at Marafa Secondary School in Kilifi.
