The just concluded Census 2019 results have been released and as of this year, the general population in Kenya is 47,564,296.
Out of the figures released today, the number of men is a staggering 23,548,056 against that of women which stands at 24,014,716.
The Census 2019 results released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, KNBS were conducted between August 24th and 25th 2019.
KNBS director Zachary Mwangi further revealed that the Kenyan population has grown by 10 million compared to 2009 when the last Census was conducted.

The activity was the first of its kind to include intersex people and the number currently stands at 1,564.
Out of all the counties in Kenya, Nairobi led with the highest population of 4,397,073 followed by Kiambu with 2,417,735 and Nakuru with 2,162,202.
Mombasa County came a distant sixth with a general population of 1,208,333 behind Kilifi County which has a population of 1,453,787.
President Uhuru Kenyatta followed the announcement and praised KNBS for conducting it in a smooth way in the shortest time possible of two months.
