President Uhuru Kenyatta through a gazette notice has appointed Centum CEO James Mworia as the new chancellor of Machakos University.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 38 (1) (a) of the Universities Act, I Uhuru Kenyatta president and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces appoint James Mworia to be the Chancellor of Machakos University for a period of five years,” Read the notice
Mworia who has hit headlines for being the highest CEO in the country is credited for steering Centum to profitability but recently recorded a Ksh 1.3 billion in the 2020/21 financial year.

Also confirmed through a gazette notice was the appointment of Philemon Kiprop Kandie as the new director general of Kenya Rural Roads Authority (Kerra) for a similar period of five years.
Kandie who has been serving the parastatal as the acting director general was appointed by Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(1) (f) of the Kenya Roads Act, 2007, the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and public works appoints Philemon Kiprop Kandie to be the director-general of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority for a period of five years, with effect from April 13, 2022,” Read the notice
