Major League Side (MLS) CF Montreal Impact has named Kenyan star Victor Wanyama as their assistant captain.
The news was confirmed the by the club’s Sporting Director Olivier Renard who confirmed that both Victor Wanyama and Kamal Miller will be deputes to Sam Piette who is the captain.
The former Tottenham midfielder was part of the Saturday’s clash against Columbus FC where he played the captain role with the clash ending in a barren draw.

Back in Kenya, Wanyama is still the captain of the national team Harambee Stars even though he was not part of the team’s line up against Egypt and Togo in the 2022 African Cup of Nations.
Other players making it big in the international fronts is Michael Olunga who has proved to be a football engineer even after joining Al Duhail from Japan.
He is currently the top scorer in the AFC Champions League with a total of eight goals and going strong.
