Speaking to the Standard, Kisumu Central OCPD Martha Ngetich confirmed the incident saying they are closely monitoring the situation.

Police officers were patrolling the bus park to prevent further battles as the two groups were regrouping to fight.

The cause of the problem is said to have been caused by one group that is accused of introducing many more vehicles plying the Kisumu-Nairobi route with notifying others.

Passengers caught in the battle were forced to scamper for safety before the situation calmed down thanks to the police.
