The 30-year-old midfielder who suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark in the European championships last summer left Tottenham Hotspur for Inter Milan in 2020 after seven years in North London.

Thorough medical checkup is expected to take place at Manchester United for the midfielder before he officially signs his contract until 2025.

His signing will be a huge boost for Manchester United who have lost Juan Mata, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard in that creative role.

Brentford were confident of extending the Dane’s contract but Manchester United who have been monitoring his situation jumped in and offered almost a triple of his current weekly wages.

The former Inter Milan playmaker will earn £150k per week at Old Trafford.

New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly looking to sign five players this month including FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong and Ajax’s versatile Argentine Lisandro Martinez while defender Tyrell Malacia could be announced this week before friday.
