Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua has been assaulted by County Askari leading to head and neck injuries.
Kimani was filming a Boda Boda operator being forced to part with a bribe after being caught flouting the motorbike ban in Nairobi’s CBD.
The Citizen TV journalist tried to explain himself but he was quickly roughed up and taken to Fire station offices where he was slapped and his head banged against the wall.
He then insisted to be taken to Central police if he indeed had committed a crime but the county askaris ignored.
He was then released and forced to delete the pictures and video he had taken.
Its still unclear if it was the county askaris who hurt the Citizen TV journalist as they had no uniform but only had identification cards with them.
