Chief Justice (CJ) Martha Koome has revealed plans to meet the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to discuss former Governor Mike Sonko’s expose of Justice Said Chitembwe.
The CJ further confirmed having viewed the leaked video that was widely shared on social media as Kenyans demanded action over the incident.
She was speaking moments after Justice Chitembwe denied the allegation during a live TV interview terming the video as edited and meant to frame him.

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko leaked the video on Tuesday 16th November 2021 which revealed Chitembwe’s brother soliciting bribe on his behalf causing uproar on social media.
Chitembwe who is already under investigation on matters graft, maintained his innocence blaming his enemies for attempting to frame him and give the state reasons as to why he should be removed from office.
Two petitions have already been filed in court involving a a succession case that was determined by Justice Said Chitembwe in Malindi.
According to the petitioners, the Judge ruled unfairly the case with his brother also involved by allegedly procuring the property in contention.
