A class two student from Itare village in Kisii Country circumcised himself following his parents inabilty to pay Ksh 1,000 to undergo the cut.
The 10-year old boy is reported by Citizen to have used the kitchen knife to cut himself.
During an interview, he revealed to have done so to avoid discrimination from his fellow boys who have undergone the cut.

His health deteriorated afterwards forcing his parents to take him to the nearest dispensary for treatement,
He was later on transferred to Kisii Level Four Hospital but the bills were to much for the parents who took him back home.
Well-wishers are being called to help the boy as he has developed urinating complications following the incident.
As schools are set to re-open from Monday, the class two student is expected to stay at home.
